About Us

Capabilities

We help bridge the gap
between farmers and the market.

Uasin Gishu county is home to thousands of small-scale farmers producing an average of 14 liters of milk per day.

Most of these farmers don’t make profits from the daily supply of milk sold to middlemen. Elkeiyo Dairies Limited is a Milk processing company located at the border of Uasin Gishu and Elgeyo Marakwet counties established in 2018. The company is the solution to thousands of liters of milk that used to go to waste due to spoilage and other challenges faced by the farmers ranging from exploitation by middlemen, lack of storage facilities, bad roads, and expensive feeds.

Our Story

Mrs. Rosemary Kaittany, the entrepreneur behind Elkeiyo dairies Limited, is using smart farming technologies to produce silage and fodder for her 100 dairy cows. The milk produced is processed at the farm into several products including Yoghurts, pasteurized fresh milk as well as fermented milk which is then packaged and distributed to outlets in 12 different counties across Kenya. To meet the big demand for quality milk and yogurt, Elkeiyo dairies outsource raw milk from local farmers. These farmers contribute to a large extent to the volume of the milk processed at the factory.

Mrs. Kaittany has implemented several strategies that have benefitted the local farmers, having firsthand experience since she started off with only two milking cows, the entrepreneur understands the challenges farmers face and has been able to address this at her milk processing factory.
