At the factory, pasteurization involves heating and cooling the milk.
How is this done?
The milk is heated using steam generated from a boiler. Renewable natural gas is used to fire up the boiler. The steam heats the aluminum tanks and is recycled back to the boiler. For cooling, running water is used to cool the tank containing the milk.
